How did Borghese Sunrise come to be?
I met my wife in Rome, Italy, on the night of August 27, 2017, at an Irish bar named Scholars when she got on stage and sang a sweet, honey-like rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.” After she sang the song’s final notes, I maneuvered my way across the bar’s crowded floor and introduced myself. After the bar closed, we walked to Piazza Barberini and then up Via Veneto, where we sat down across from Villa Borghese. There, we continued talking through the night until the sun began to rise above the gardens.
And that is how the band Borghese Sunrise was born.
